BEIJING, June 3 – China has agreed to extend the visa exemption period for Malaysian tourists from 15 to 30 days, announced Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during the 50th anniversary celebration of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations. The agreement follows Zahid’s meeting with Premier Li Qiang, where it was discussed that Malaysia, which already offers Chinese tourists a 30-day visa-free stay, would reciprocate.

The new policy, set to be implemented after the formal agreement is signed, aims to enhance bilateral exchanges and tourism. Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang also attended the ceremony held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Zahid emphasized that the extended visa exemption aligns with efforts to strengthen Malaysia-China relations across various sectors, including education, culture, and tourism.
