BEIJING, June 4 — Lenovo has launched the Legion 7000K series in China, marking a significant move by integrating laptop CPUs into gaming desktop towers. This MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) design allows for high performance while maintaining the compact efficiency of mobile processors. The Legion 7000K systems come equipped with powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs, diverging from the typical integrated graphics seen in previous MoDT platforms.
The new gaming towers offer a choice between two robust Intel Raptor Lake Refresh mobile CPUs: the Core i9-14900HX and the Core i7-14650HX. These processors boast impressive specs, including up to 24 cores, clock speeds reaching 5.8 GHz, and substantial Smart Cache. Despite the soldered CPUs limiting upgrade options, Lenovo promises a competent cooling system capable of handling up to 190W. The Legion 7000K series also includes 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 1TB PCIe Gen4 storage, and a comprehensive range of I/O ports, starting at approximately $1,300 and going up to $2,350 depending on the configuration.
