KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 – Maxis, in collaboration with the English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) of the Ministry of Education Malaysia, is proud to announce the return of the Maxis eKelas HIPMaX StoryFest. This annual English Language theatre and storytelling competition is open to all Year 4 to Form 5 Malaysian students, providing a platform for them to showcase their creativity and communication skills. With Maxis eKelas boasting over 100,000 registered users, the competition aims to engage students in fun and creative activities while celebrating Malaysian folklore.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Malaysian Folklore,” encourages students to explore and retell their favorite local folklore stories, fostering a deeper connection to their cultural heritage. Through live workshops in 50 schools nationwide and 8 virtual workshops, students will receive guidance to craft compelling storytelling and theatre productions. The competition, running until July 31, 2024, will culminate in a grand finale and awards ceremony in August, coinciding with the Merdeka celebrations. Maxis is committed to empowering Malaysian youth through education and creativity, paving the way for a brighter future.
