KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 – Sony Electronics has unveiled its upcoming firmware roadmap for the BURANO digital cinema camera, promising significant enhancements to the newest member of the CineAlta family. Scheduled for release over the next year, BURANO Version 1.1 and Version 2.0 will introduce additional recording modes, support for live event production, and various improvements based on feedback from the cinematic community.

It will also support Sony’s Monitor & Control app version 2.0.0, which offers multi-camera monitoring, precise exposure tools, and intuitive focus control. BURANO Version 2.0, expected in March 2025 or later, will expand recording formats, add a 1.8x de-squeeze option, and enhance monitoring features.
It will also include new high frame rate modes, standardized SDI video output, and advanced exposure tools from the VENICE camera system.
