SAN DIEGO, June 10 — Qualcomm has quietly introduced its latest mid-range mobile processor, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, aimed at enhancing performance, gaming, and intelligent assistance for 5G-enabled devices. While it brings improved AI capabilities and slightly faster CPU speeds, it largely builds on the architecture of the older Snapdragon 695, offering modest upgrades rather than a complete overhaul.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 features Kryo cores clocked at up to 2.3 GHz, promising a 4.5% increase in CPU speed for better everyday performance. Despite retaining the Adreno 619 GPU and lacking significant advancements in graphics capabilities, it supports robust 5G connectivity and enhanced camera functions with its triple 12-bit image signal processor. Devices powered by this new platform, like the upcoming Motorola G85, are expected to deliver efficient performance and multi-day battery life, making it a compelling choice for mid-range smartphones.
