Blackmagic Design has introduced the URSA Cine Immersive camera, aimed at enhancing content production for Apple Vision Pro. Announced yesterday, this camera leverages the existing URSA Cine platform to capture 90fps stereoscopic 3D video, tailored specifically for Apple’s new immersive video format. This, combined with updates to Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve software, enables filmmakers to monitor footage directly on Apple’s headset and export native Vision Pro files.
The URSA Cine Immersive features dual 8K image sensors, 16 stops of dynamic range, and a custom stereoscopic lens system, making it the world’s first commercial camera for Apple Immersive Video. While pricing remains undisclosed and direct consumer purchase is unlikely, this development signifies a potential increase in Vision Pro content. Blackmagic’s updated DaVinci Resolve will offer new tools for immersive video editing, available later this year.
