SEPANG, June 19 — China’s Premier Li Qiang arrived in Malaysia today for a three-day official visit, marking his first trip to the country since taking office in March last year. The visit, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, began with Li’s arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, where he was welcomed by Chinese Ambassador Ouyang Yujing, Transport Minister Anthony Loke, and Malaysia’s Ambassador to China Datuk Norman Muhamad.

Li’s visit will include a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to discuss bilateral and global issues, the signing of several agreements in areas such as the digital economy and green development, and a dinner celebrating the half-century of Malaysia-China relations. Additionally, Li will have an audience with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and attend the East Coast Rail Link groundbreaking ceremony in Gombak. The visit underscores the robust trade relationship between the two nations, with China being Malaysia’s largest trading partner for fifteen consecutive years.
