GEORGE TOWN, June 23 — Ebenezer Assifuah emerged as the hero for Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Penang FC in the highly anticipated Northern Derby of the Liga Super at Stadium Bandaraya. Assifuah’s decisive strike in the 77th minute secured Kedah’s second win of the season after four matches.

Following a goalless first half, the breakthrough came when Assifuah, who had been subbed in at the 70th minute, capitalized on a precise pass from Syafiq Ahmad. Despite Penang’s relentless attacks in the dying minutes, they were unable to equalize, leaving Kedah to celebrate a crucial win. This victory lifts Kedah to 10th place in the league standings, overcoming the setback of a points deduction earlier in the season due to salary arrears.
