KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 — Sony announced today that Reuters, one of the world’s leading news agencies, has chosen Sony Alpha and XDCAM cameras, along with G Master lenses and audio equipment, to equip its video journalists worldwide. Starting this year, Reuters reporters will be using the Alpha 7S III and PXW-Z280 cameras, paired with UWP-D wireless audio, to capture and report on global events. This decision highlights the Alpha 7S III’s compact form factor, exceptional picture quality, advanced autofocus, and superior low-light performance, which are crucial for on-location content creation.

The PXW-Z280, known for its ease of use and electronic variable ND filter, will enhance Reuters’ news gathering with its Instant HDR workflow and advanced network features. Both cameras offer seamless connectivity for reliable content transfer, essential for the fast-paced news environment. Sony’s Media Backbone Hive, already in use at Reuters, will support this new equipment, reinforcing the strong relationship between the two companies. Gildas Pelliet of Sony Europe emphasized the importance of reliability and picture quality in news reporting, qualities that Sony cameras are designed to deliver.
