CUPERTINO, June 29 — Apple announced today that it will not release three recently introduced features, including its flagship “Apple Intelligence” AI product, in the European Union in 2024. The decision is due to “regulatory uncertainties” arising from the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) antitrust regulation, which Apple claims could compromise user privacy and data security.

The features affected are Apple Intelligence, iPhone Mirroring, and enhancements to SharePlay screen-sharing. Apple stated that the interoperability requirements of the DMA could force the company to compromise the integrity of its products. Despite this setback, Apple expressed its commitment to working with the European Commission to find a solution that would allow these features to be available in the EU without compromising safety.
