NIBONG TEBAL, June 29 — Elections should be a platform for political parties to present their plans and agendas rather than a venue to determine voters’ religious beliefs, stated Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. He emphasized that parties attempting to use elections to dictate religious identity should not be supported.

“Elections are about presenting policies, plans, and agendas for administration, not about declaring religious affiliations,” Saifuddin said at the Unity Talk programme for the Sungai Bakap by-election. He urged voters to elect candidates based on their leadership qualities and potential to bring benefits to the community, highlighting the credentials of Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Joohari Ariffin.
