GEORGE TOWN, June 30 — The alfresco area of Gurney Plaza came alive with melodies tonight as Penang celebrated Fête de la Musique, also known as International Music Day. Organized by the Alliance Française de Penang and graced by esteemed guests, the event marked a joyful revival of the global music celebration post-pandemic.

State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Wong Hon Wai, welcomed attendees and introduced the French trio, Marsu, who performed classic and popular French songs. Wong emphasized Penang’s role as a cultural melting pot and highlighted the event’s significance in fostering international cultural exchange. The concert, part of the 22nd Le French Festival, showcased the profound impact of music in uniting diverse traditions and enriching the cultural landscape of Penang.
