KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — Ataneres Ensemble, a dynamic string orchestra from Belgium, is poised to make its Malaysian debut with performances in Penang and Kuala Lumpur this July. Celebrating Belgium’s National Day, the tour is supported by the Belgian Embassy in Malaysia and the Flemish Government’s Department of Culture, Youth and Media.
Ataneres Ensemble, known for their innovative blend of classical and contemporary music, will present their “Strings in the House” concert, a unique fusion of strings and analogue synthesisers that melds classical orchestration with the structure of a DJ set.
The ensemble, featuring violinists Wim Spaepen and Cleo Dahan, violist Thi Ngoc Ha, cellist Karen Meyer, double bassist Daniele Giampaolo, Frederik Noel Martens on keys, and electronic musician Jimmy Quintens, promises an eclectic program of minimalist treasures, cinematic highlights, and accessible covers.
