KUCHING, July 2 Sarawak is set to launch the MySRBN Home Prepaid Plan, an innovative internet service aimed at enhancing connectivity in rural areas. The new plan, introduced by Sarawak Utility and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, offers 200GB of data for just RM5 per week, with an additional option of RM20 per month for 1TB of data. The service is part of the Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MySRBN) initiative by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), scheduled to commence on July 7.

Under this plan, customers will also receive a free preload of 300MB each month. Minister Julaihi emphasized that the price difference from typical monthly fees of RM70, subsidized by SDEC, underscores the state government’s commitment to improving digital access in rural areas. Additionally, SDEC will provide free installation of routers and antennas to approved applicants. Launched in 2021, MySRBN has already expanded to cover 490 rural areas, benefiting 19,668 premises across Sarawak, and aims to further support digital inclusivity and connectivity in the state.
