KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 – SME Bank Malaysia has launched its fourth Export Acceleration Mission (EAM) for 2024, targeting the United States to bolster Malaysian MSMEs in the food and beverage sector. This initiative coincided with the Summer Fancy Food Show 2024 at the Javits Center in New York, with support from the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (MECD) and MATRADE. The mission provides a platform for Malaysian MSMEs to showcase their innovative products globally under the Business Exports Program (BEP).
Datuk Wira (Dr.) Aria Putera Ismail, CEO of SME Bank, highlighted the EAM’s success since its inception in 2020, with 80 companies generating RM187.68 million in export revenue by December 2023. The 2024 mission, featuring 11 BEP companies, attracted around 3,000 buyers, resulting in potential sales of USD 15 million, surpassing the initial target of USD 10 million. With the assistance of Enescorp International LLC, the program helps Malaysian businesses navigate the US market, aiming to introduce local flavors to American consumers and expand their market presence.
