KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 — In a move aimed at bolstering financial security for its delivery partners, foodpanda Malaysia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Under the Panda Hearts Programme, this collaboration enables over 50,000 gig workers associated with foodpanda to participate in EPF’s i-Saraan program, facilitating monthly contributions towards their retirement savings.

The MoU, signed by Mr. Sazaliza Zainuddin, Chief Operating Officer of EPF, and Mr. Shubham Saran, Director of Operations at foodpanda Malaysia, underscores a commitment to improving retirement planning among delivery partners. “Our partnership with EPF marks a significant step in ensuring our delivery partners have access to long-term financial benefits,” stated Shubham Saran. Initiatives include educational sessions on retirement planning and setting up EPF accounts during delivery partner events nationwide, emphasizing the importance of financial preparedness for the future.

This collaboration aligns with foodpanda’s ongoing efforts under the Panda Hearts initiative to enhance support and resources for its delivery partners, furthering their role within the foodpanda ecosystem.
