GEORGE TOWN, July 13 – Starting July 15, 2024, Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) will revise the fares for Rapid Mobiliti services in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The new fare of RM7.00 covers two passengers per booking, specifically catering to one disabled passenger and their accompanying companion. Rapid Mobiliti, a door-to-door transport service that commenced operations in 2011 in Kuala Lumpur and 2016 in Penang, aims to benefit current passengers and attract the wheelchair community to use this service.
The fare adjustment aligns with an introduction of cashless payment methods, allowing passengers to pay by scanning a QR code displayed in the vehicle. Cash payments remain an option for those without QR code facilities. The service covers areas such as Shah Alam, Kajang, Seri Kembangan, Cheras, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Selayang, and Kuala Lumpur in the Klang Valley. In Penang, it currently serves only the island areas.
Rapid Bus CEO Muhammad Yazurin Sallij stated that the new fare is more affordable and aligns with rising living costs, emphasizing the service’s commitment to providing comfortable and accessible transport for wheelchair users.
