Microsoft, which invested $13 billion in OpenAI, announced its withdrawal from the board, while Apple, which was set to take up a similar role, also stepped back, leaving OpenAI without any board observers from these tech giants.
The decision comes as European regulators survey Microsoft’s rivals about OpenAI’s exclusive use of its technology, highlighting the mounting pressure on Microsoft.
