GEORGE TOWN, July 23 — Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has approved a medical leave request from Deputy Chief Minister II, Jagdeep Singh Deo, effective from July 22 to August 5, 2024. Jagdeep’s leave was granted to facilitate necessary medical treatment, including potential surgery for an ankle injury that requires specialist attention.
Chow Kon Yeow clarified that there have been no discussions regarding a change in Jagdeep’s current position, despite ongoing speculation. He extended his well-wishes for Jagdeep’s speedy recovery and emphasized the state’s commitment to continuing development efforts for the benefit of Penang’s residents.
