KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 — TF Value Mart, a prominent hypermarket chain with 47 outlets across Malaysia, is set to enhance its sustainability efforts by implementing carbon-neutral energy solutions. Partnering with Plus Xnergy, the firm anticipates saving RM132.6 million over 25 years through rooftop solar installations at 23 of its outlets, including locations in Balik Pulau, Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Port Dickson, and Taiping. This initiative aligns with TF Value Mart’s commitment to reducing energy consumption and operational costs in the short term, while exploring innovative energy solutions for a greener future, as stated by CEO Mr. Ho Mun Hao.
Plus Xnergy’s Group CEO, Ko Chuan Zhen, highlighted their extensive experience in the retail sector, having previously fitted solar solutions for brands such as BOH Tea, Kawan Food, and Secret Recipe. The solar energy system is expected to generate 8,089,425.92 kWh annually, equivalent to offsetting 3,932,007.03 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over 25 years. In addition to solar installations, TF Value Mart plans to introduce EV charging stations at four outlets, including Nusa Bestari and Gua Musang, further supporting their commitment to sustainability and cleaner transportation options. This initiative is part of Malaysia’s broader goal to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with solar PV installations playing a crucial role in the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
