KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 — With Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) resuming passenger jet flights soon, Firefly has launched ticket sales for its new jet flights starting August 29, 2024. Firefly will operate daily flights between Subang Airport to Penang and Kota Kinabalu using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, complementing its current turboprop operations.
To mark the occasion, Firefly offers promotional all-in one-way fares from RM129 to Penang and RM249 to Kota Kinabalu for travel between August 29, 2024, and August 6, 2025, including 10kg of check-in baggage, 7kg of carry-on baggage, and free refreshments. The daily return flights will utilize Firefly’s retrofitted Boeing 737-800 aircraft, featuring 189 leather seats in Economy Class with personal device holders and USB-A and USB-C charging ports. This launch is part of Firefly’s strategy to expand its presence at Subang Airport, adding to over 2,100 weekly flights to eight destinations.
The jet services will complement the existing nine daily ATR72 flights to Penang, increasing the total to 10 daily flights. Additionally, Firefly has introduced a new ‘Neighbour-Free Seat’ option for selected routes, allowing passengers to reserve adjacent empty seats for added comfort. Malaysia Aviation Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail emphasized this move as a strategic enhancement, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity while expanding travel options.
