BAYAN LEPAS, July 26 – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has launched Penang Export Day, running from today until July 23, as a key initiative to enhance the export capabilities of the state’s industry players, especially Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Held at the Olive Green Hotel in Bayan Lepas, the event aims to solidify Penang’s position as a leading export state in Malaysia.
The event was officiated by Penang Chief Minister, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, and attended by MATRADE Chairman, YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, who is also the State Assemblyman for Bertam. Organized by MATRADE in collaboration with the Penang State Government through the Penang Development Corporation (PDC), the event features strategic partnerships with Affin Bank Berhad, Alibaba.com, Exim Bank Malaysia, FedEx Malaysia, and Maybank Islamic Berhad.
Dato’ Seri Reezal highlighted that the MSMEs’ ability to produce international-standard products strengthens Penang’s role as a major exporter. The event includes various export-related programs to enhance MSMEs’ knowledge and awareness, enabling them to expand their businesses beyond national borders.
