KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — Veteran politician Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang leads the list of 1,346 recipients of state honours and awards in celebration of Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak’s 75th birthday. The 82-year-old former DAP chairman will be awarded the state’s highest honour, the Darjah Utama Pangkuan Negeri (DUPN), which bestows the title “Datuk Seri Utama”.
The honours list also includes 28 individuals who will receive the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN), carrying the title “Datuk Seri,” among them Bank Negara Malaysia governor Datuk Shaik Abdul Rasheed Abdul Ghaffour and Implementation Coordination Unit director-general Datuk Azman Ibrahim. Other notable recipients are Bukit Aman Narcotics CID director Datuk Khaw Kok Chin and Penang State Legislative Assembly speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang. The investiture ceremony will be held over four days starting tomorrow, coinciding with the rescheduled celebrations from July 21 to August 1.
