KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Invest Selangor Berhad (ISB) co-hosted the MIDA Invest Series: Selangor – Unfolding Its Business Potential, a collaborative event held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This event, aimed at showcasing Selangor’s investment landscape and opportunities, attracted 200 participants, including leaders from various industries, government representatives, and entrepreneurs. Keynote addresses were delivered by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), and YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor.
Highlighting Selangor’s strategic importance, YB Senator Tengku Zafrul noted the state’s impressive performance, attracting RM12.4 billion in approved investments for Q1 2024. Dato’ Seri Amirudin emphasized the concurrent SPARK 2024 Expo, offering investors opportunities to engage with federal and state authorities. Mr. Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim of MIDA celebrated the event’s success, underscoring Selangor’s role as an investor magnet. The event showcased Selangor’s strategic geographical position, developed infrastructure, and robust economic sectors, particularly manufacturing, which contribute significantly to Malaysia’s GDP and national growth.
