GEORGE TOWN, August 1 — Miraico has officially launched Project FUTURE, a groundbreaking initiative designed to revolutionize sustainability through the innovative use of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) technology. Partnering with JCI Bukit Mertajam and other key collaborators, Project FUTURE aims to harness the full potential of BSF by leveraging automation, AI, and data analytics. This project seeks to tackle food waste, create sustainable feed, and produce organic fertilizers while generating new job opportunities.
The announcement, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing, was attended by Yang Berhormat Tuan Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, Penang State Executive Councillor of Youth, Sports, and Health. The initiative aligns with Penang’s Penang2030 vision for a green and smart state. Miraico’s partnerships include Xiamen University Malaysia, US Pizza, Sunpaq, Think Plus, and Green Home, all working together to advance research, sustainable ingredients, eco-friendly packaging, and innovative green technologies. Through these efforts, Miraico aims to promote a circular economy and inspire a community dedicated to environmental stewardship.
