SELANGOR, August 4 – Hunan Qankorey Biotechnology (Qankorey), in collaboration with Clotech Sdn. Bhd. and Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), has launched Malaysia’s first One Step Dementia Risk Test Kit. This pioneering test, recently approved by the Medical Device Authority (MDA) of Malaysia, aims to revolutionize dementia diagnosis through a cost-effective, non-invasive solution that detects Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) fragments in urine. This breakthrough technology promises early detection of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and dementia, crucial for the country’s aging population.

The partnership, formalized with a Memorandum of Agreement, will see clinical studies involving 281 participants to validate the kit’s effectiveness within Malaysia. With dementia rates projected to rise significantly, this test kit offers a glimmer of hope for early diagnosis and intervention. “The introduction of this tool represents a major advancement in public health,” said Ng Lyp Hau, Director of Clotech, highlighting the potential for widespread screening and improved patient outcomes.
