KUALA LUMPUR, August 10 — CelcomDigi Berhad, U Mobile Sdn Bhd, and ZTE Corporation have joined forces to present Malaysia’s inaugural live broadcast powered by 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology. This landmark demonstration will occur during the SUKMA 2024 Opening Ceremony on August 17, 2024, at Stadium Sarawak and will be broadcasted through Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). The collaboration, announced at MWC Barcelona 2024, highlights the capabilities of 5G-A’s ultra-low latency and high throughput to enhance live broadcast experiences.
Utilizing ZTE’s advanced mmWave AAU technology, the broadcast will benefit from a 1024-antenna array and superior network management features, delivering speeds up to 8.5 Gbps per user. CelcomDigi’s CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi, U Mobile’s CEO Wong Heang Tuck, and ZTE Malaysia’s Managing Director Steven Ge all emphasized the strategic significance of this collaboration in advancing Malaysia’s 5G ecosystem and setting new standards in digital connectivity.
