KUALA LUMPUR, August 10 — Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to launch an annual sponsorship programme aimed at supporting Malaysian students pursuing higher education at UTM.
This initiative will see Huawei Malaysia sponsoring six students each year, covering their tuition fees and, if applicable, retroactively supporting fees from the first semester. The programme targets Malaysian citizens in their second to fourth year of study with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.20. Priority will be given to those with Huawei ICT certifications or participation in Huawei training programmes.
Graduates of the programme will have the option to join Huawei with a commitment of at least two years. Huawei Malaysia’s Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Choh Yau Meng, emphasized the importance of academia-industry partnerships in preparing a skilled workforce for the nation’s digital transformation goals.
