KUALA LUMPUR, August 12 — Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has announced impressive financial results for the first half of 2024, exceeding its profit targets by 21%. In H1/2024, Vietjet’s air transport revenue surged to VND 32.893 trillion (approximately RM 6 billion), a 31% increase year-over-year, while pre-tax profit skyrocketed by 690% to VND 1.174 trillion (approx. RM 213.98 million). The airline transported 13.1 million passengers across 70,154 flights, outperforming its pre-pandemic performance in 2019.
The company’s consolidated revenue for H1/2024 reached VND 34.016 trillion (approx. RM 6.2 billion), with a pre-tax profit of VND 1.311 trillion (approx. RM 238.95 million), marking significant year-over-year growth of 15% and 433%, respectively. Vietjet continues to expand its global network, including new routes to Australia and South Korea, and is committed to modernizing its fleet with a recent order for 20 Airbus A330neo aircraft valued at US$7.4 billion.
