KUALA LUMPUR, August 20 — Kuching City FC continued their impressive form in the Liga Super with a resilient 2-2 draw against Penang FC at the Negeri Stadium this afternoon. Despite Penang’s early dominance with two quick goals just before halftime from Joao Ferreira de Oliveira Neto and Rodrigo Dias, Kuching City fought back strongly in the second half.
Jimmy Raymond set up Zahrul Nizwan Joe Kifli for Kuching City’s first goal, and a mistake by Penang goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman allowed Tchetche Kipre to score the equalizer from a free kick. With this result, Kuching City remains unbeaten in their last four league matches, securing fifth place with 11 points from eight games. Their next fixture is against the bottom team, Kelantan Darul Naim FC, this Saturday.
