KUALA LUMPUR, August 22 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has called on TCSens, the vendor managing Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) applications for Singapore drivers, to enhance its communication efforts and streamline the application process. This follows confusion after the opening of a VEP information centre in Woodlands, Singapore, on August 19, which was not publicized by the vendor or Malaysian authorities.

Loke emphasized that while the Ministry of Transport instructed TCSens to publicize the centre, it is not the ministry’s role to issue statements on the vendor’s behalf. He urged TCSens to ramp up efforts to inform Singaporean drivers about the VEP process, especially ahead of the October 1 deadline, when all foreign-registered vehicles entering Malaysia from Singapore will be required to display a VEP RFID tag.
