GEORGE TOWN, August 26 – Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow, delivered a heartfelt appreciation speech at the Majlis Apresiasi for companies involved in the NCER Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) at KOMTAR today. The NTIC, a pivotal initiative by the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), aims to establish Penang as a one-stop hub for research, design, technology, innovation, and commercialization within the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER).
In his address, Chow Kon Yeow highlighted the significant impact of NTIC on driving innovation and technology within small and medium enterprises (SMEs), while also supporting the development of high-skilled talent. He commended the active involvement of companies like Western Digital, Estek Automation, and Aemulus, who were honored with certificates for their contributions. The Chief Minister also noted Penang’s record investment inflow of RM71.9 billion in 2023, underscoring the confidence of both international and local investors in the state’s potential.
