KUALA LUMPUR, August 26 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the robust relationship and cooperation between the unity government and its coalition partners, Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN). He emphasized that the collaboration with Umno is currently very satisfactory, and the government remains open to continued positive discussions.
Anwar’s remarks came in response to Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s call during the Umno General Assembly for members to stay united and not be swayed by opposition slanders. Zahid urged all levels of leadership to put aside differences to strengthen Umno ahead of the 16th general election (GE16).
