KUALA LUMPUR, August 29 – The search and rescue (SAR) team re-entered the Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) pump station in Pantai Dalam this morning as efforts to locate a missing female tourist from India, who fell into a sinkhole at Jalan Masjid India, entered their sixth day. Equipped with masks, oxygen tanks, and safety helmets, the team continues to search for Vijayaletchumy, 48, who has been missing since last Friday when the ground suddenly caved in as she was walking to a nearby temple.

The SAR operation, involving multiple agencies including the Fire and Rescue Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and the Civil Defence Force, has seen the deployment of advanced techniques and equipment. The search has been expanded to include the IWK Pantai Dalam treatment plant, where efforts are focused on locating any signs of the victim. Despite extensive efforts, there has been no positive indication of her whereabouts.

Authorities have employed a variety of methods, including push rods, crawler cameras, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) devices, to scan the area for clues. The team has also used high-powered water jetters to clear debris and tracker dogs from the JBPM K9 Unit. As of today, the SAR team remains committed to continuing the search, with additional support from various government agencies to bring closure to this tragic incident.
