GEORGE TOWN, August 29 – The Northeast District Police Headquarters has announced road closures and diversions in George Town, Penang, in preparation for the 67th National Day Parade. The closures will begin on August 29, 2024, and will continue through August 31, 2024, to accommodate rehearsals and the main parade event.
Key roads affected include Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah, Lebuh Light, Jalan Pengkalan Weld, and Lebuh Pantai. These roads will see phased closures starting from 12:01 AM each day. The public is advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion during this period.
