KUALA LUMPUR, August 30 — In a significant effort to ease the medical burden on individuals living with HIV, the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) have contributed a combined RM556,000 to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF). This funding will benefit 55 recipients requiring second-line HIV treatment under the HIV Medical Assistance Scheme.
During the cheque presentation ceremony, MAF Chairperson Prof. Dato’ Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman expressed gratitude for the generous contributions, which will ensure that those in need continue to receive comprehensive HIV care and support. The collaboration, a testament to the ongoing commitment of PERKESO and MAIWP, marks a vital step in Malaysia’s efforts to combat HIV and support affected communities.
