BANGI, September 3 — Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan announced today that the coalition is scrutinizing a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning allocations for Opposition MPs. He highlighted that the MoU contains several ambiguities, including conditions related to asset declaration, support for the government, and sensitive issues such as race, religion, and royalty (3R).
Takiyuddin expressed concern over the draft’s stipulation that Opposition MPs might need to declare assets and support the government to receive allocations, a departure from previous practices. He noted that PN will continue discussions with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof’s office to clarify these terms before making a final decision by September.
