KUALA LUMPUR, September 4 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has announced that improving internet access in schools and universities will be a top priority for Budget 2025. The ministry aims to ensure that students across Malaysia benefit from optimal connectivity, both indoors and outdoors, aligning with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s focus on educational enhancement.
In addition to bolstering internet infrastructure, Fahmi highlighted the ministry’s commitment to advancing the creative economy, particularly through initiatives like MyTV and the National Film Development Corporation (Finas). Citing the success of the Film in Malaysia Incentive (Fimi), which offers a 30% cash rebate for content production, Fahmi expressed confidence that these efforts will further solidify Malaysia’s position in the global creative industry.
An official announcement regarding these priorities is expected during the budget presentation on October 18.
