PUTRAJAYA, September 6 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has called for a civil discussion on the draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning allocations for opposition Members of Parliament, urging that the matter be handled privately rather than through the media. Fahmi, who also serves as Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) communications director, emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue, noting that during PH’s time in opposition, they engaged directly with former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob without publicizing the discussions.
Fahmi suggested that the opposition should follow PH’s previous approach, which led to successful allocation arrangements and significant reforms. He encouraged Perikatan Nasional’s Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and other opposition members to meet with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof to discuss the MoU. Fahmi stressed that such discussions should be conducted respectfully in the appropriate forum, rather than through press conferences.
