GEORGE TOWN, September 10 – The 14th edition of the George Town Literary Festival (GTLF) is set to take place from November 29 to December 1, 2024, under the theme “Word on the Street.” This year’s festival will explore the stories and voices that shape urban life, emphasizing literature’s role in reflecting and influencing society. Organized by Penang Institute and supported by major sponsors Greatech Technology and HSBC Malaysia, GTLF2024 promises an engaging lineup of prominent local and international writers.
The festival will feature celebrated Malaysian authors, including Tan Twan Eng and Hanna Alkaf, alongside international figures like Flemish author Jeroen Olyslaegers and Taiwanese novelist Kevin Chen. Events will span multiple venues across George Town, offering a variety of panel discussions, book launches, and workshops, with most programmes remaining free for the public.
