GEORGE TOWN, September 11 – Tesla Malaysia has marked a major milestone by expanding its presence in Penang, launching the first V4 Supercharging station at Gurney Plaza and opening a state-of-the-art service centre in Seberang Jaya. These developments solidify Penang’s status as a key hub for Tesla’s growing community in the region. The service centre, which includes a Body & Paint workshop, will cater to the needs of Tesla owners across Penang and the Northern region.
The V4 Supercharger station, located at Gurney Plaza’s B1 car park, offers four high-speed Superchargers designed for efficient and seamless charging. With a pay-per-use fee of RM 1.25/kWh, the station allows Tesla owners to easily locate and monitor Superchargers via the Tesla app. This addition is part of Tesla’s efforts to expand its charging network across Malaysia, now featuring 12 Supercharging stations and 13 Destination Charging stations nationwide.
Tesla Malaysia is also hosting a pop-up roadshow at Gurney Plaza from September 10-15, showcasing the Tesla Model Y in Quicksilver and the Tesla Optimus, a humanoid robot designed for repetitive tasks. To further celebrate the occasion, Tesla will be delivering its first vehicles to customers in Penang on September 12-13, marking a significant moment for sustainable mobility in the region.
