KUALA LUMPUR, September 13 – PAS Youth leaders have called on their members to learn vernacular languages, including Mandarin and Tamil, to foster better connections with non-Malay communities. PAS Youth Chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden stressed the importance of breaking language barriers to gain support from non-Malay voters. He urged youth members to take proactive steps by attending language classes and not relying solely on the party’s national unity bureau.
At the same event, PAS Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man highlighted that language differences often contribute to misunderstandings and suspicions among communities. He suggested that by promoting Bahasa Malaysia as a common language, racial divides could be further bridged, while also encouraging the learning of other languages to deepen mutual understanding.
