KUALA LUMPUR, September 13 – Taobao Malaysia has launched its first-ever beta English interface, aimed at breaking language barriers and providing a more user-friendly shopping experience for Malaysian customers. This initiative comes in response to growing demand from local users seeking easier access to the diverse product offerings available on Taobao.

The new interface, powered by advanced AI technology, includes automated translations, estimated price conversions in Ringgit Malaysia (RM), and dual-language customer support, making global shopping more seamless for English-speaking users. Malaysia, alongside Singapore, is the first market to experience this update.

Taobao’s enhanced platform offers a range of benefits, including free air shipping on fashion purchases above RMB199, exclusive new user perks, and free returns on first orders. According to Jess Lew, Country Manager for Tmall Taobao World Malaysia, this initiative aims to enhance the shopping experience for over 20 million English-proficient Malaysians, underscoring the platform’s commitment to accessibility.

Jianqiu Ye, General Manager of Tmall Taobao World, emphasized that this move aligns with the company’s vision of creating an inclusive shopping platform for a global audience. Taobao Malaysia will continue refining the English interface based on user feedback to meet the evolving needs of its customers. The beta version is now available for free download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
