BANGI, September 14 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for the police and religious departments to expedite investigations into alleged child sexual offences linked to Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings (GISBH). He emphasized that both the police and religious bodies, including Jais and Jakim, should act swiftly and according to the law, particularly given the severity of the allegations related to the welfare of children.
The Prime Minister’s statement follows a recent raid on 20 GISBH-linked welfare homes, where 402 children were rescued, and six suspects were charged, including for sexual offences and child abuse. Authorities are continuing investigations, with health checks for the rescued children being prioritized.
