GEORGE TOWN, September 17 – George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI) will host the award-winning Tang Mei Yun Taiwanese Opera Company for a special performance as part of the George Town Heritage Celebrations 2024.
The troupe will present “The Dilemma Between Justice and Relationships,” a classic case-solving drama reimagined for modern audiences, on 28 and 29 September at SMJK Phor Tay’s Sports Center, Sungai Dua, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. With over 40 performers led by Tang Mei Yun, the show will feature Taiwanese Hokkien dialogue with Mandarin and English surtitles, making it accessible to a wider audience.
Complimentary tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be redeemed in person at GTWHI’s office on 20 and 21 September or reserved by phone for those outside Penang. Each individual is eligible for up to two tickets per Malaysia Identity Card, and wheelchair users or individuals with special needs can contact GTWHI for priority arrangements.
