GEORGE TOWN, September 18 — Pulau Tikus State Assemblyman YB Joshua Woo raised concerns over the danger posed by large old trees after big branches from a nearby tree fell in front of his service center earlier today, damaging a neighboring shop’s signboard. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Woo noted that 13 similar incidents had been reported in the Pulau Tikus and George Town areas by 9:50 a.m. this morning. He reiterated his earlier calls for an aggressive tree management plan, highlighting that while MBPP has been actively removing 30 dangerous trees, the preservation of old trees in urban areas, as advocated by some NGOs, has proven to be a safety risk.
