PUTRAJAYA, September 21 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has issued a stern warning to contractors found selling government-awarded internet development projects to third parties. Fahmi disclosed that several companies had secured these projects but failed to complete them, causing delays in critical internet upgrades across multiple areas.

Without naming the involved companies, Fahmi stressed the importance of fulfilling project obligations, warning that legal action and possible blacklisting could follow if contractors do not comply. “Companies must demonstrate their capability, and failure to carry out projects should lead to stricter action,” Fahmi stated, emphasizing that such delays have impacted the ministry’s goals for improved internet access nationwide.
