JOHOR BARU, October 2 – Kluang is poised to become Johor’s next major logistics hub with the development of key infrastructure projects, including the Gemas-Johor Baru Electrified Double Track project (Gemas-JB EDTP), highway expansions, and federal road upgrades. These projects are expected to significantly enhance connectivity, creating new business and job opportunities for the district and surrounding areas, according to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

A 2.1 km bypass from Taman Muhibah to Layang, costing RM60 million, will also be built to ease traffic congestion for 30,000 vehicles daily, further improving the district’s infrastructure. In addition, Kluang received RM122 million for road and maintenance works, and the local health sector has been allocated RM305,000 for upgrades. These improvements aim to boost Kluang’s economic and logistical capabilities, cementing its role as a key player in Johor’s future growth.
