BUKIT GELUGOR, October 6 – Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) has successfully completed the first phase of its largest housing project in Penang, Residensi Bukit Gelugor (Ideal Residency), well ahead of its planned August 2025 target. The milestone marks the completion of 1,218 units, which is expected to significantly contribute to affordable housing in the state. During the key handover ceremony, 20 proud homeowners received their keys from Housing and Local Government Minister YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming.
The RM365 million project, a joint venture between PR1MA and Ideal Capital Venture Sdn Bhd, secured its Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) on August 22, 2024. As of September 30, a total of 1,198 units had already been sold, showcasing strong demand for affordable housing in Penang. Each 850-square-foot unit, priced at RM300,000, features modern amenities including three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and high-speed fiber-optic internet.
In addition to spacious and affordable living spaces, the development boasts community-centric facilities such as badminton and basketball courts, swimming pools, a gym, and jogging tracks, creating a vibrant living environment for residents. PR1MA’s commitment to resolving sick or delayed housing projects is also reflected, as the agency has successfully completed 18 out of 24 previously troubled projects since the Madani government took office.
With 61 out of 88 PR1MA projects nationwide now completed, the government is also developing a big data analytics tool to help developers better understand housing needs. This move is expected to further enhance Malaysia’s real estate market, with a targeted RM200 billion in sales by year-end.
