KUALA LUMPUR, October 7 — PETRONAS and Mitsubishi Corporation have reaffirmed their 46-year partnership by signing new agreements to strengthen their Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) operations. The collaboration focuses on delivering LNG to international markets, with a key emphasis on Japan, further solidifying both companies’ commitment to energy security and a lower-carbon future.
The agreements involve Mitsubishi Corporation extending its 10 per cent equity shareholding in MLNG Dua and reinvesting in MLNG Tiga. PETRONAS President Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik and Mitsubishi CEO Katsuya Nakanishi highlighted the strategic partnership’s importance in driving continued success in LNG supply from Sarawak to global markets, supporting both Malaysia’s and Japan’s energy needs.
